Sneak Peek

LUCY UPDATES!

It seems Lucy has declared the chayote her permanent residence. We spotted her just after sunrise, attempting to find some high ground so that she could sun herself with those potent morning rays. It is the nature of chameleons to blend in and Lucy does it very well! Her color mix reflects the blue-green of the chayote vines perfectly.

Recently, we have experienced rather dry weather. This creates an ideal environment for insects to thrive. No rain to wash them away. Lucy has been enjoying a steady buffet of flys, leaf hoppers, and grass hoppers. She will be bigger and stronger by next month’s letter! See you then, Lucy!

On the farm...

Trying new squash varieties!

We are planting over 10 new squash varieties this spring. Ipo decided that this Tahitian Melon was ripe for the picking. Really, it needed another month or so to grow, but that’s okay. She’s happy, so we are too!

Loads of tomatoes!

Feast your eyes upon this gorgeous, delicious, and meaty Brandywine! We are swimming in tomato sauce. A wonderful problem to have. Time to get out the canning gear!
