Farmer’s Market debut, new apparel products, Lucy's column, MELON, and pineapples
SPHF’s market debut happened this week!
It was wonderful to meet so many new friends and support the local community of Naalehu at the OKK Farmer’s Market. Fresh produce, carefully handmade soap, and planted herb starts were available. I hope to see you next time!
Our newest apparel is still available for pre-order!
Lucy’s Corner!
Lucy is definitely a creature of habit. She loves her morning dose of sunshine on the chayote vines. We’re happy to see her shedding. Look how much she has grown!

Farm updates!

New to our garden and coming soon to our market booth! Documented by Vilmorin in Les Plantes Potageres in 1883. A special cantaloupe with complex history, beautifully warted skin and dense, sweet flesh. We’re so excited to have such unique offerings!

We are growing the Sweet Cayenne and Sugar Loaf varieties. It is so exciting to see the plants producing slips as well! Pineapple slips are small shoots that grow from the flower stalk of a pineapple plant, typically just below the fruit. They can be removed and planted to grow new pineapple plants, making them a popular method for propagation.
Thank you for reading our June Newsletter! See you next month!
Aloha!
